As Maltese teens start maturing and becoming more independent, the prospect of making some money on the side during summer becomes more and more appealing. Fortunately for everyone, summertime Malta comes with a lot of job opportunities especially in the tourism industry. Here are six different kinds of summer jobs Maltese teens tend to get themselves into. 

1. Language Teacher

If you’ve ever heard the word TEFL, then this is why.  Teens will be lining up to get this qualification to be able to teach foreign students the lovely language of English. 

As far as working hours are concerned, usually they would be just mornings, also earning a decent summer income. Being a teacher can be a fun and fulfilling job for the summer.

2. Waiter

A classic student part-time job. 

You don’t need loads of training or prior skills, just remember your customers’ order, have a smile on your face, and try not to drop the hot plates all over them. 

A great way to gain experience and start learning the basics of being responsible with the money you make.

3. Lifeguard

A job you can do in your swim suits is a job worth considering. Lots of time to sunbath, and possibly take a dip, the list of positives that come along with this career choice are almost never-ending.

4. English language school Group Leader

Taking foreigners around, showing them the best spots around the island, all the time while you get to enjoy them yourself

A great way to make cash and enjoy summer, you can see why this role is so popular with Maltese youth.

5. Family assistant 

When daddy or mummy has a spare place for their sweet angels in their company. 

There’s nothing like the tension you get when you work with your family. Grind your teeth and clench your fist, and keep all the anger of being bossed around inside.

Fortunately, Malta has become a haven for betting companies. 

With a new one opening every other day, they always have place for eager, hardworking individuals to join their team, and get into their vibe.
