7 Awesome Parties In Malta This Weekend If You’re Not Going To Lost & Found
There’s only one thing worse than missing out on a festival you wanted to go to – and that’s moping around and missing out on the rest of the fun you could be having.
So if you didn’t manage to get tickets for Annie Mac’s Lost & Found, here’s your lowdown for the rest of the hedonistic happenings this long weekend. See you there.
It’s An Indie Thing – The Funky Monkey – Gzira
FRIDAY
Hosted by Deadisko at the laid back Manoel Island good-vibes venue, ‘It’s An Indie Thing’ is the place to be for Girls and Boys who wanna have fun.
Leave your heels at home for this one, and get your plimsoles scuffed dancing to Britpop by the likes of Blur and Pulp played by some of Malta’s top alternative DJs. It’s also cheap as chips at just €3 on the door. Yipee!
Easter Weekend – AXM Club – Paceville
FRI/SAT/SUN
Party all throughout the Easter weekend at AXM in Paceville, where you can leave your inhibitions behind in return for rainbowtastic revelling.
The Maltese LGBT clubbing mecca is hosting three consecutive nights of debauchery, with half-price drinks from 10pm ’til midnight, and, get this – free Easter eggs. That’s Nanna’s Easter present sorted then.
Easter Bunnies – TwentyTwo – Paceville
SATURDAY
Malta’s high-end venue with a view is having an all-out Easter night out on Saturday night. Hosted by EBM, ‘Easter Bunnies’ is definitely the boujiest party in town.
VIP tables can be booked in advance from a €250 minimum spend if you’re going as a group, and the dress code is “Elegant with pastel Easter twist” – so get your body-cons and bunny ears ready, hunnies.
Spots & Stripes – Beachaven – Xemxija
SATURDAY
This party brand is celebrating its tenth anniversary, which goes to show just how awesome ‘Spots & Stripes’ really is. Head up to Beachhaven if you want a night of alternative fun with a capital F.
As always, you’re encouraged to wear spotty or stripey clothing – or of course both. This is the place to go mad with your outfit choices and make the most of your originality. Glitter, headpieces, leotards… Yes yes yes.
Easter Island – The Funky Monkey – Gzira
SUNDAY
Expect a fun-filled Easter at Funky Monkey in the hands of Malta’s cool kids at this all-day party. The perfect occasion to bust out the frayed short-shorts!
Boasting a stellar lineup of local dance Djs including Duncan F, prepare yourselves for the promise of a “funk fuelled dancing sesh”. Lots of house music, lots of vodka mixers, and lots of “Grande lads!”
Easter Sunday – Surfside Lido – Sliema
SUNDAY
The Sliema seafront old favourite Surfside’s gone all glam since it reopened as a “posh lido” earlier this month – so if you feel like getting dressed up, this one hosted by TM.TF is the one for you.
Book a table for lunch to make a day out of it or just turn up and enjoy cocktails from the bar and beats by Ziggy and Mr. Armand and SAX. Sounds like summer’s started to me.
Blade Easter Sunday – Aria Complex – Iklin
SUNDAY
In the exact words of Carl Lautier – one of the Djs – “Hallikom mill VIPs kulhadd fid dancefloor” – so that should give you a pretty good idea of what this party’s about.
If you’re gutted about Lost & Found, this ones for you. Forget Annie Mac and co, Daniel Blade and co will show you that the Maltese know how to party. Drop your “innit”s at the door, we say mela round here.
BONUS: Lost And Found – Café Del Mar outskirts – Qawra
FRI/SAT/SUN
There’s no rule against hanging around Qawra. It’s bound to be filled with fun-loving Brits worthy of a new Geordie Shore series.
Who knows, you could meet your Prince Charming in Buġibba Square. Maybe.
