This week’s sudden cold temperatures and December round the corner can only mean one thing; Christmastime is here! And while some people might not be as overjoyed as others at that prospect, we’re willing to bet they’re still not as grumpy as some Maltese pets out there.

Here are seven dogs and cats around Malta that don’t seem to be having the best of times right now, courtesy of popular Facebook group RUBS Puppy Love.

1. Santa’s little grumpy helper

Although, to be fair, this cutie is definitely pulling it off, and his owner said he found it to be very comfy.

2. This defeated glitter bomb

Yorkshire Terriers are normally very active dogs, but it seems like after a romp around the decorations, this little guy has had no choice but to accept his new tinselly fate. 

3. The dog-and-cat combo that crossed this Baby Jesus

Although some people came to the defence of puppies and kittens, it turns out that the culprits behind this attack were a four-year-old dog and a five-year-old cat.

Poor Baby Jesus looks like he was designed with that expression for this specific scenario. 

4. This trio of kittens that went up against a Christmas tree… and lost

Although, considering the owner has six other cats, we’re guessing it won’t be long until that Christmas tree meets its demise.

5. This cat that definitely won its battle 

With no shred of a doubt.

6. This Maltese that looks a tad confused

Again; confusion aside, this baby is cute AF. 

We didn’t really need the knitwear and the mini armchair to fall in love with him, but that just goes to show that you can never have too much of a good thing with dogs.

7. “This is my life now”

it might just be the flash and that pink sweater, but this adorable little Shih Tzu looks a little overwhelmed by the concept of Christmas. 

At least, as multiple people commented on the photo, from a cuteness scale of one to 10, this one’s definitely a “1000000000000+”.

It might be down to her getting all new targets for her to munch on (it was a TV remote last weekend), but Luna’s festive get-up (revealing much?!) seems to have this cute little puppy over the moon.
