7 Massive Beauty Brands We Need In Malta ASAP, Please And Thanks

Article Featured Image

We’re not exactly a stone’s throw away from the nearest Sephora or ULTA Beauty store here on our tiny island of Malta. Local make up and beauty lovers rely heavily on online shopping or a trip to the mainland to stock up on our stash.

And while we’re slowly taking steps towards building up our local beauty portfolio with brands like Kiehl’s, NYX, MAC, and the soon-to-open Kiko store, there’s still room for growth.

And I would just like to add a quick shout out to LUCY at The Plaza who have recently started stocking Revolution – because that brand is insane.

Here are seven makeup and beauty brands we really want see set up shop here in Malta.

1. Fenty Beauty

The packaging for all Fenty Beauty products is actually manufactured here in Malta at the Toly factory, so we don’t see why we shouldn’t be able to purchase the products here too.

Plus, Rihanna’s made sure that the Fenty range is perfect for a whole variety of skin tones; especially our tanned Mediterranean skin.

2. Kat Von D Beauty

In the UK, Kat Von D products are sold at Debenhams. We’ve got Debenhams here in Malta. So let’s put two and two together and start stocking KVD in local stores.

Their wide range of skin products are a great base for any makeup kit, and their bright lipsticks and eyeshadows will allow us to embrace the creative makeup trend that’s recently made it’s way to the island.

3. Lush

The Mecca of organic and natural skincare and beauty. They’ve got stores all over Europe and deliver to Malta from their UK website. With the rise in awareness about organic beauty and zero-waste products here in Malta, it would definitely be welcomed.

Plus, it smells really good.

4. Urban Decay

The packaging for Urban Decay is also manufactured at Toly, plus they’ve got a stand at the airport. So instead of hauling ass to Oxford Street to pick up a fresh All Nighter setting spray, all we’d have to do is haul ass to Tower Road or Republic Street.

Plus, in the Maltese heat we need all the setting spray we can get our hands on.

5. The Ordinary

We really need to step up our skincare game here in Malta, and The Ordinary is the way to go. They’ve got all the creams and acids and oils we could use, without the frills.

Time to say ‘screw you’ to our killer UV index and protect our skin once and for all.

6. Morphe

To be totally honest, this is just a selfish suggestion because I love Morphe and their pallets are the shit. Plus, they stock some Jefree Star products and we love our Jefree here in Malta.

So yes, I’m putting Morphe on the list.

7. NARS

While I’m not a fan of the fact that NARS has decided to start testing their products on animals, it is something that is missing from our stock on the island. Their face products cost a bomb but they’re top-range for a reason. And you know we all want to get our hands on that Radiant Creamy Concealer.

Me when all my wishes come true and I can add to my already-too-big makeup collection without having to leave the country or rely on online shopping:
