Most kids run around the playground but 7-year-old Francesco Grima Portelli just ran his way straight into the Malta Records.

At just 7 years and 314 days old, Francesco completed a 5km run in an impressive time of 23 minutes and 43 seconds, making him the youngest boy in Malta to run the longest distance.

The record-breaking run took place in the charming village of San Lawrenz in Gozo, and was organised in support of Dar Bjorn.

Francesco’s incredible determination and pace earned him national recognition and plenty of well-deserved praise.

A big shout-out also goes to LESA officer Luke Saliba (badge #831), who kindly assisted the Malta Records jury and managed traffic throughout the event.

Well done Francesco!
