Last Christmas, one half of Malta’s most loved celebrity couple – Sean Gravina – launched a project whereby he cooked a special meal for all the children who were spending their Christmas at Mater Dei Hospital. Gravina and his team put the magic back into our national hospital’s children ward. And this year, they’re going even bigger.
Gravina is back and he’s sprinkling his Christmas dust beyond the kids’ wards. He will be sourcing items to offer hampers for the Mater Dei staff to say thank you for all they do to help patients all year round. In order to make this year’s meal extra special the organisers are calling on business owners to dig deep and contribute to the cause.
So BUSINESS OWNERS – listen up.
Make this the one thing you do right this season – not for all the publicity (which you will inevitably get) but for the fact that you will be making a magical difference to someone’s day.
Here’s what the team needs:
- 70 individual cakes
- 150 bottles of wine
- Fresh oranges or orange juice, ideally organic, for all the staff and children
- About 200 fresh cookies
Most importantly though, the team need your help to raise the children’s spirits. For this they will need:
- Animators – ideally in costume, ready to spend a day making kids forget everything but the fact that it’s Christmas!
- Children’s gifts – anything that you think will put a smile on a child’s face. Toys, books, games, you name it. The team can’t accept cash or home-cooked donations, so please convert that energy into a wonderful present for a child in hospital.
If your business would like to help out with this amazing initiative, email the organisers, contacting Anthony Mamo on [email protected], and spread the joy with someone who needs it.
