Malta’s Most Hyped Up Thriller ‘The Boat’ Will Finally Be Premiering On The Islands

Local thriller ‘The Boat’ will finally have its Malta premier on the 22nd of February at the Eden Cinemas in St. Julian’s.

Directed by Winston Azzopardi, who is one of the Best Director nominees at the 2019 UK National Film Awards (along with some massive names like Idris Elba, Alex Garland and Steve McQueen), the film centres around a young fisherman trapped on a sailboat in the middle of the sea. As he loses his own boat, the vessel he’s stuck on heads into unknown waters and he’s faced with one tough challenge after the other.

Starring Joe Azzopardi, the director’s son, the film was shot in just 22 days and officially debuted at the prestigious Fantastic Fest in Texas when back in September, impressing various film critics around the world.

Local audiences will be able to catch the film here in Malta at an exclusive run with a red-carpet tickets on the 22nd of February

A Q&A session with Winston and Joe Azzopardi will follow the screening. After the premier, the film will be running for a limited time from the 27th of February onwards. For more information on the movie, you can check out The Boat‘s Facebook page.
