Social Media Impact: Over 570,000 Followers Later, Lovin Malta Continues To Grow Across All Platforms

Seven years and well over half a million followers later, Lovin Malta has confirmed its position as the country’s biggest online portal across all platforms. But the growth still continues… especially at a time when the way people consume news and content continues to evolve.

Easily the most popular social media platform when we started out back in 2016, Facebook continues to be a major source of information for many of our readers, and with nearly 300,000 followers, it’s easy to see how the platform is set to persist for the next years.

The future is however particularly bright for a number of other platforms which are not only attracting more users on a daily basis, but are also revolutionising the way we all consume content.

It goes without saying that Instagram is quickly becoming the preferred social media platform for many. And with this comes an exciting new prospect of changing the way news is delivered, collaborations are announced and content is shared.

That’s why Lovin Malta has heavily invested in platforms like Instagram over the course of the last year… and the numbers say it all.

At over 170,000 followers (and counting), our Instagram following has managed to balloon into a massive, beautiful community of local and international readers who come to us for daily updates on everything from the latest memes to important current affairs. And with the islands’ biggest legacy newsrooms lagging behind at less than a fourth of our following and other contemporaries still far behind, Lovin Malta is committed to continuing its trailblazing trajectory on the planet’s most popular platforms.

It’s also a platform like Instagram which allows us the freedom and flexibility to debut a number of new shows, such as Saħħa U Sliem with Evarist Bartolo, a Maltese-language series where the former Foreign Affairs Minister breaks down some of the biggest talking points of the week.

Other, newer platforms like TikTok, meanwhile, continue proving our dedication to push forward, with original content and the repackaging of important news pieces seeing our following there grow to over 75,000 users… well over twice as many as any of our competitors.

Whether it’s live coverage from a protest or a hilarious reaction to an ongoing trend, we will always be there, doing our best to inform and entertain you on your platform of choice.

But we also understand that variety is key, and with platforms like LinkedIn seeing an exciting influx of users engaging with a network of professionals, we have stepped in to serve the local and international community alike. Over 11,000 LinkedIn followers later, Lovin Malta is absolutely dominating there too, boasting a following that’s larger than pretty much all of our competitors’… combined.

A number of constantly-increasing collaborations, meanwhile, has given some of the islands’ most exciting content creators the ability to tap into our audience of hundreds of thousands of followers, pushing everything from foodporn videos to podcast discussions onto the highest online level in Malta.

From established influencers to promising up-and-comers, our collaborations only have one thing in mind: if you’re up to some cool shit in Malta, get in touch with us and help us elevate your content by giving it the mega platform it so rightly deserves.

But we understand that, even in a time when online media is king, there’s a lot of content out there way beyond your phone. Which is why, late last year, Lovin Malta took to the streets.

An exclusive partnership with Streetmedia announced last November has meant that, for all of 2023, Lovin Malta’s video content and breaking stories has been broadcasted on bus terminals across Malta and Gozo.

From Ċirkewwa to Valletta – as well as the country’s busiest hubs like the University of Malta, Mater Dei, Floriana and Qawra – everything from live updates and breaking stories to video content that our followers have grown accustomed to, Lovin Malta’s top stories are now being brought to more than 75,000 pedestrians and bus users, every single day.

And with this being only the first of a three-year partnership, there’s still so much content on this offline space for us to bring to you on a daily basis.

Further investments and partnerships in  FreeHourTrusted Tutors and DealToday – and a new exciting offering set to be launched over the coming months – have also signalled an exciting turning point for Lovin Malta’s increasingly diverse portfolio, making sure that we provide our followers and clients with the most impactful content both commercially and journalistically while continuing to consolidate the company’s financial independence.

And with thousands of new followers joining our community on a monthly basis, there’s still so much to do.

If you’re looking to showcase your services and brand to our audience, we are the ideal platform to help you reach a wider audience and gain more visibility.

So if you’d like to collaborate, campaign or create with Malta’s leading online platform, now’s the time. Get in touch with us on [email protected] and let’s continue growing together!
