Chris Spiteri is a 23-year-old Maltese accountant, animator and illustrator who’s using his talents to give a vivacious new life to the Maltese landscape. He’s always had a passion for arts, really enjoy drawing during his earlier years.

“I used to draw a lot when I was a kid, but eventually stopped drawing when I was around 18 years old,” Chris told Lovin Malta. “At that age, I used to take a lot of photos with my DSLR – later on I started drawing again.”

“I’m constantly taking photos with my phone, both for posts or stories. Then I add an alternative reality from my imagination to it as I feel people get more connected to it”

“I got really into character design and started doing snapchat drawing stories just for laughs, eventually I started doing illustrations of photos I take and combine them with imaginative characters and uploading them on Instagram.” He said.

Beyond his own cartoony side project, Chris recently started collaborating with Kelma Kelma in order to produce animations playing on Maltese idioms and sayings.

“Whether it’s Photoshop, Procreate or Instagram’s story drawing function, I’m constantly creating illustrations,” Chris told Lovin Malta. “It’s fun and it helps me to interact with people.”
