A collective exhibition featuring artworks that deal with the transformation of ugliness into beauty is on right now in Attard.

What’s even more exciting is that all proceeds from the sales of the artworks featured in the exhibition are going towards the Malta Community Chest Fund.

The exhibition is titled But I See Beauty, and it is being curated by Art Sweven’s Melanie Erixon.

The exhibition aims at exploring how art can show beauty where it is least expected, and how artists can portray beauty in ugliness.

“We are surrounded by eyesores and objects which are considered to be aesthetically unpleasant. The theme of the exhibition challenged the artists to create artworks which originate from an element of what could be considered as ‘ugly/unpleasant/unattractive’ and transform it into beauty,” the exhibition description reads.

The artworks forming part of this exhibition are in various media including sculptures, photography, prints, paintings and objet d’art.

The participating artists in this collective exhibition are Mario Abela, Joseph Agius, Victor Agius, Kamy Aquilina, Alex Attard, Marisa Attard, Francesca Balzan, Aaron Bezzina, Celia Borg Cardona, Fabio Borg, John Martin Borg, Vince Briffa, Kane Cali, Sarah Calleja, Antoine Paul Camilleri, Joyce Camilleri, Roderick Camilleri, Catherine Cavallo, Rupert Cefai, Anabel Cordina, Katel Delia, Joanna Dounis, Antoine Farrugia, Anna Galea, Madeleine Gera, George Muscat, Lawrence Pavia, Ethelbert Perini, Richard Saliba, Stephen Saliba, Adrian Scicluna, Joseph P.
