Celebrate a decade of humanitarian missions with the debut of comic anthology “Ten Years Of Heroes – The MOAS Chronicles.”

Since the start of its operations in 2014, the Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS) has been a beacon of hope, courage, and innovation in the face of global crises.

The organisation has commissioned three renowned national and international artists to visualise their ten-year long efforts that have successfully saved 200,000 lives worldwide.

The comic features the talented works of local, veteran artist Mark Scicluna, who illustrates the intricate sea rescue operations, inspired by real-life footage and events.

Julian “Julinu” Mallia, another seasoned Maltese artist, proficient in the fine arts, utilises his skills to capture MOAS’ bold interventions in Ukraine, highlighting their life-saving efforts in the frontlines of war.

International comic book legend, Ian Richardson, who’s produced successful sci-fi and fantasy projects with American and British industries, most notably his depictions of Judge Dredd, portrays the emotional resilience of the Rohingya community in Bangladesh and the empowerment MOAS provided.

“This comic book doesn’t just tell our story—it embodies our vision for the future of humanitarian action,” said MOAS founder, Christopher Catrambone, “Every page reflects the dedication, bravery, and resilience of our teams and the people we serve. As readers immerse themselves in these stories, I hope they will be inspired by the transformative power of combining technology, compassion, and action.

The book will be unveiled this weekend on the first day of the Malta Comic Con, Saturday 9th Novemeber and will be given away for free to attendees alongside original artworks from the behind the scenes of its production.
