Separation Struggles And Juggling School Brought To Life In FM Theatre’s Newest Performing Space In Malta
After two years, FM Theatre is back with a bang with a performance of Isuelt Golden and David Horen’s Class at its brand new black box theatre, Theatre Next Door.
Nathan Brimmer, Philip Leone Ganado and Tina Rizzo will star in the award-winning script with Chiara Hyzler directing. Pushing the boundaries of theatre-making, this smart tale of social warfare offers no easy answers.
You can book your tickets for the performance, which will run from 29th April to 8th May, over here.
Revolving around learning difficulties, Class looks at how one’s personal life spills into other areas of your life. With Brian and Donna being recently separated, things are catching up to their nine-year-old son, and his teacher recommends him to see a psychologist.
Revolving around the themes of love, hope and trust, Class should get audience members thinking about the social welfare that encapsulates this family.
Being brought to the stage for the first time at the Dublin Theatre Festival in 2017, Class was then taken to the Abbey Theatre in January 2018. Featuring in the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it won an Edinburgh Fringe First Award. Together with being named the Best Theatre Script at the 2018 ZeBBie Awards.
“Class is the ideal production to officially launch Theatre Next Door,” says FM Theatre founder and managing director Edward Mercieca. “With its top cast and director, it will offer a funny and compelling snapshot of today’s world that will make audiences both think and laugh.”
Being one of the island’s leading theatre companies, FM Theatre Productions has given Malta’s theatre scene quite some unforgettable pieces. Including My Fair Lady, Mamma Mia! And We Will Rock You, FM Theatre is pushing the boundaries when it comes to the stage.
Opening up their newly purpose-built performing arts venue, Theatre Next Door is home to a modern black box theatre and is also fully equipped with multiple rehearsal studios.
This event is suitable for audience members aged 16 and above and adheres to current public health recommendations. With shows on the 29th and 30th April and spilling into the 1st, 5th, 6th,7th and 8th May make sure you book your tickets via www.tnd.com.mt.
