Mizzi works with clay, predominantly, but also has a knack for marble shaping.

He’s also an avid freediver and photographer and has keen eye for capturing the island’s beauty in all it’s splendour.

When he’s not shooting the island in all it’s glory or holding his breath under 23 metres of seawater, you’ll probably find him sculpting clay statues on the beach.

The patience a sculpture like this would take, against the water’s edge, is a true testament to the skill Raphael puts into his work. Shout out to Torri Mixkuka waving in the background!

It must have been a busy week of muddy hands for Raphael this time around as less than a week after posting his Buddha had he uploaded this candid shot of a clay Jesus in the works.
Also, can we just stop for a moment and appreciate the fact that he took the time to carve ‘The Creation of Adam’ into a fucking eggshell? World peace right there, my friends.
