Emerging Painter Launches Body Of Work Influenced By Malta’s Surrounding Sea In Valletta
Emerging painter Lara Vella recently launched a body of work directly inspired by the sea which surrounds the Maltese islands.
The exhibition, which was launched last night at Żak’s Art Gallery in Valletta, also makes it the gallery’s first-ever launch.
The showcase presents a collection of paintings that show the strong influence of the sea on Malta’s history and fisheries as well as on the artist herself, with the space also featuring earlier pieces by the artist.
The sea is synonymous with Maltese culture and therefore is integral to the artist’s relationship with her home and sets the tone for her life experiences.
The fluid nature of water is an inspiration to the artist: it sets an example for how one should live their life – to go with the flow and seek inner equilibrium.
The exhibition is available for viewing until 9th April, from 3pm til 9pm.
