Greta Muscat Is A Real Thing That Exists And I Don’t Think I’m Getting Any Sleep Tonight

You’ll be hard-pressed this week if you’re on social media and you’re planning on not running into photos or videos of Greta Thunberg, the teenage Swedish environmental activist who’s proven to be a force to be truly reckoned with. But we’re willing to bet there’s one photo you won’t be able to unsee.

Last night, an absolute mad lad and Photoshop wiz took it upon himself to create a hybrid that no one was waiting, hoping or even asking for. But now that it does exist, we’re not sure whether we’re proud or profoundly disturbed.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Greta Muscat.

Yep, soak it up. Soak it all up. And while you’re at it, be sure to wipe those sweat beads from your forehead.

In classic trainwreck fashion, I’m finding it really difficult to look away from what I’m convinced is slowly becoming a legit hypnotising photo. I mean, I could swear for a second there that Joseph Muscat’s gaze was following me as I stood up from my desk in shock.

The photo-edit, which appeared on social media last night, has already garnered a great deal of attention, with over 200 reactions on the initial post and God knows how many shares on private messaging threads.

And the weirdest part of it all?

The 16-year-old Swedish activist doesn’t look that different with the face of Malta’s 45-year-old Prime Minister superimposed on her.

Dozens of comments did in fact point this out, with some saying the comparison to Aphex Twin’s iconic Windowlicker artwork making even more sense considering Greta Thunberg and Joseph Muscat somehow look like they could be bloody twins.

And of course, because this is 2019, someone just went and made it a thousand times worse by creating Joseph Thunberg

And of course, it had to be stand-up comedian Matt Bonanno to come in with an impossibly more disturbing take on the pair’s hybrid.

"For balance"

I’m shaking. And I’m never going to unsee this. Good luck trying to get proper sleep tonight, kids.
