Healing Vessels: An Upcoming MUŻA Exhibition That Blends Ceramics, Art And Nature

Art has the power to hold stories, emotions, and moments in time. Healing Vessels: Art and Vases, a new exhibition by Michelle Gialanze (Mixa) at the National Museum of Art, Malta (MUŻA), explores this idea through ceramics and paintings.
Bringing together majolica vases and earth-toned artworks, the exhibition, running from 24th April to 1st June, invites visitors to slow down and experience art not just as something to see, but as something to feel and connect with.
Curated with a sensitivity to the relationship between art and nature, Healing Vessels presents pieces infused with organic pigments and botanical patterns.

The deep blues, warm ochres, and rich terracotta shades evoke a quiet connection to the earth, while the delicate textures of the ceramics hold a sense of time and transformation.
“We wanted to create a space where visitors step into stillness, where the artwork itself breathes,” says curator Louise Cutajar. “These vessels don’t just hold paint and clay. They hold resilience, quiet beauty and a sense of presence.”
Located in MUŻA’s newly unveiled space on Zachary Street, the exhibition is designed to be immersive, encouraging visitors to pause and engage with the works beyond sight alone.
Soft light shifts across ceramic textures, while botanical installations create an organic atmosphere, making the space feel as alive as the art within it.
Beyond the visual experience, Healing Vessels offers an interactive element, with opportunities for visitors to participate in talks, creative sessions, and discussions on majolica ceramics and the meditative nature of artistic expression.
