‘I’m Very Honoured’: Maltese Magician To Perform At Major Global Magic Summit
Maltese magician Gwilym Bugeja will soon be given a major international platform after he was invited to perform at the Blackpool Magic Convention, the world’s largest magic summit.
Gwilym will take part in the Bear Pit show alongside Magic Sam, Oliver Bell, Darren Robinson, Steve Faulkner and Matt Clewley in February. It will be a ten minute act but repeated six times.
“I’ve been attending the Blackpool Magic Convention as a guest for 11 years but this will be my first time performing,” he told Lovin Malta.
“I’m very honoured that I have been invited to perform at a convention that has attracted some of the best talent from around the world over the years. It’s an honour and a privilege and I am looking forward to this is new opportunity.”
The Blackpool Magic Convention attracts thousands of magicians and illusionists every year, including some major names in the industry, for three days of lectures, workshops, interviews, gala shows, and other events.
The first confirmed headliner for this year’s event is Mac King, an American magician who has been described by legendary magic duo Penn & Teller as “maybe the greatest comedy magician who ever lived”.
Gwilym, 27, has been doing magic since he was 12 and in recent years set up the comedy magic act OMG Magic and OMG Magic Kids.
