Malta Jazz Festival Marks Its 35th Edition

The Malta Jazz Festival, organised by Festivals Malta, is back for another edition. This festival is one of the agency’s flagship events and features both local and international artists from the jazz genre.
The festival opened successfully on Monday, 7th July at the Valletta Campus Theatre with a performance by the Ġużé Camilleri Quartet, and will close with two nights at Ta’ Liesse on the 11th and 12th of July.
During a visit to City Theatre, Minister for Culture, Arts, and Local Government Owen Bonnici expressed his satisfaction with the continued success of this festival, which has now been running for 35 years.
“A festival like this not only brings together local and international musicians, but also elevates Malta’s name in the cultural and musical scene, while creating a space for the public to enjoy high-level talent. Moreover, it contributes to positioning Malta as an exceptional cultural destination and strengthens the local artistic community,” said Minister Bonnici.

Festivals Malta CEO Frans Agius said, “The evenings at Ta’ Liesse will once again offer a rich programme for all jazz music lovers. Among others, we’ll see artists like Peter Bernstein, Michael Mayo, Johnathan Blake and Knower. There will also be performances at City Theatre by Lukmil Pérez, Franck Amsallem and Rebecca Martin. It’s a programme not to be missed.”
More information about the programme and festival tickets can be found on the festival’s social media or at www.festivals.mt/mjf.
The festival is being organised by Festivals Malta with the support of the Ministry for Culture, Arts and Local Government, Visit Malta and proudly supported by Schweppes.
