Maltese Artist Henry Falzon Unveils New Exhibition Exploring Connection And Emotion

This November, “I Thought I Heard You Say…”, a new exhibition by acclaimed Maltese artist Henry Falzon, known for his distinctive and emotive visual language, will be unveiled to the public.
In this latest body of work, Falzon explores the delicate space between hearing and seeing, speech and silence, reflecting on the ways humans connect with one another and interpret the world around them.
Through a collection of expressive oil paintings and select works in pastel, Falzon transforms fleeting perceptions into fluid, emotionally charged compositions. His brushstrokes capture the shifting boundaries between reality and imagination, where sound and emotion merge into form and colour.
The exhibition includes both large-scale atmospheric works, such as “Just Floating and Mystic”, and smaller, more intimate pieces like “Stone Cold David and Lady from the Orient”. Together, these paintings create a visual rhythm that evokes inner thought, empathy, and quiet observation.
Falzon’s process is instinctive and layered, his muted palette punctuated by sudden bursts of colour that heighten the sense of introspection. Figures emerge from translucent veils of pigment, revealing moments of stillness and human presence suspended in time.
Through “I Thought I Heard You Say…”, Falzon invites viewers to pause- not to listen to words, but to feel the subtle hum of human connection.
The exhibition, curated by Professor Charlene Vella, will be open to the public until 30th November 2025 at the Palm Court Lounge, The Phoenicia Malta.
