London-based Maltese dancer Peter Camilleri has been accepted to play the lead role in a modern rendition of We Will Rock You on Royal Caribbean cruises.

Speaking to Lovin Malta, he recalls the moment when he found out he had landed the international gig.

“I was working at the pub when I got the call! I couldn’t believe it. I was in a daze for the rest of my shift… I even dropped a glass and cut my hand!,” he says cheerfully.

Peter, who is currently with PMA London, had started his dance career while studying at De La Salle College, where he went on to win a scholarship at Margaret Howard Theatre College in Watford.

With the news that he has landed this lead role, he will now be travelling with Royal Caribbean and performing all over the world.

“I will be on the cruise for 10 months and 2 months, and I’ve got rehearsals in Miami prior to that,” he says.

He’s already started to pack his bags – he is leaving for Miami today.
