Maltese Dancers Prepare For World Of Dance Finals In Los Angeles After Bagging Gold At International Competition
A Maltese dance group will be heading to LA to compete in the ‘World Of Dance’ finals after bagging gold at a series championship in Switzerland.
The M.V.M.T, an all-female crew made up of eight talented dancers (aged 15 to 25), outdid the rest of the competition and put on a performance worthy of a grand total of 95 points, eight clear of second-place Les Sancho. They’ll now be heading off to Los Angeles, California, to compete on the US stage!
World of Dance is the largest international urban dance competition in the world and two Maltese dance crews absolutely slayed during this year’s competition in Biel/Bienne.
Concept of Movement, led by Cheryl Lofreda, competed at World of Dance Switzerland and placed first and third with two different teams in the Team Division Category.
Surprisingly, WoD Switzerland marked the debut of the newly formed The M.V.M.T … and what a debut it was.

However, they weren’t the only Maltese team to compete in the prestigious international competition.
Concept of Movement ‘Mega Crew’ (consisting of 20 dancers between the ages of 13 & 25) were also competing in the same bracket and put on a phenomenal performance, coming in at third place, only 0.6 points behind Les Sancho.
Though they walked away with bronze, both the Mega Crew and The M.V.M.T absolutely crushed the competition and proved themselves both the victors of the night.

What’s truly amazing about both teams’ performance is the fact that a considerable number of the members who made up the crew had been dancing for less than a year and some had never performed on stage before.
“We are very happy with this achievement & I am very proud of each and every member. Some of the dancers were dancing for less than one or two years, some have been dancing for longer. Some of the winning dancers never been on a stage to perform before. However, you all worked hard and gave an amazing performance.”
Although it is uncertain whether Mega Crew has qualified for the next round, The M.V.M.T are already prepping to take on the even bigger competition in LA, where they have the potential to feature on the acclaimed TV show World of Dance on NBC.
