Last year, after emigrating to Malta, world famous tattoo artist Paul O’Rourke opened a new parlour in Birkirkara, Corazon Tattoo. Now, he’s kicking 2018 off with a new initiative straight out of the 21st century. The studio has now started accepting payments in Bitcoin and other popular cryptocurrencies in exchange for tattoos.

“Since arriving in Malta, it has been really impressive how as a country it always seem to be one of the first with new trends,” Paul told Lovin Malta. “Over the last year, I have had a lot of customers from the gaming industry and different online businesses so it seemed like an obvious next step.”

As it stands, Corazon accept payments in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin, and they’ve even started putting up stickers on the door to let their clientele know.

“We’ve only just started this year, so anyone who decides to pay like this will have one of the first “crypto tattoos” in Malta!” Paul told Lovin Malta.

“I think it is a bit of fun, and the customers have been very interested so far. I am really curious to see how things progress with crypto over the next year as more and more people start using it.”
