Marie Gallery 5 Launches New Art Exhibition Space At Sliema’s Tigne Point
Marie Gallery 5 has just launched a new gallery and art advisory space in partnership with The Centre, Tigne Point in Sliema, making it the latest space for local artists, partners, and collectors to connect.
Founded by the brains behind Malta’s own art platform ARTZ ID, Maria Galea, she continues to strive to make art accessible to everyone around Malta and beyond.
“On the occasion of the launch of this new space, we wanted to celebrate who we are as a gallery and our diverse, non-linear, outreach plan. The varied selection of artists for this launch embodies our presence collectively outlining our need for diverse creative collaboration, representing artists we firmly believe in,” Galea said.
“This collection brings together a series of bold works; highlights the identity of the artists we work with, taking the opportunity to also launch new artists such as John Paul Azzopardi, Paul Camilleri, Patrick J Feneck, Charlie Cauchi, Anna Horváth, Matthew Attard, Anna Grima, and Mario Attard.”
“We, therefore, do not call this a collective but rather a collection of curated works communicating an independent identity through different mediums.”
Marie Gallery 5 continuously aims to create meaningful partnerships and platforms that engage multiple audiences, connecting art and artists with people through various spaces.
In partnership with The Centre, a percentage of sales proceeds derived from this space shall be donated to a selected charity annually as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
Through the opening of the new space, Marie Gallery 5 also took the opportunity to launch two new initiatives.
‘Collectibles‘ is a new platform, aimed to make the secondary market more accessible and transparent, helping collectors sell and buy works from private and corporate collections.
The first edition of the ‘Gallery Review’ is a new publication that connects all the activities, spaces, events, artists, partners, and collections running by Marie Gallery 5.
When Marie Gallery 5 first launched in 2016, the main desire was to support Maltese artists and increase the appreciation for the art market in Malta, raising cultural awareness and value locally and internationally.
“We are proud to have helped advance the career of our artists in our diverse trajectory through exhibitions, art fairs, partnerships, and an extensive art acquisition portfolio,” Galea continued.
“Our ambition was, and is, to expand the audience for Malta’s contemporary art scene and connect with as many people as possible, whilst strengthening the Market itself. A gallery model that does not bow to convention or tradition.”
