Gifted artist and comic-writer Raymond Dominic Agius is releasing a new comic about the Battle of Taranto, a Mediterranean battle between British and Italian naval forces that took place on the night of 11th/12th November 1940 during the Second World War.

Similar to his previous wartime workConvoy, Taranto! will not disappoint.

Its black and white illustrations set the tone for the comic, taking you back in time to the days Europe and the world was at war and recounting the story of how 21 antiquated British biplanes entered a highly defended port and sank three modern Italian battleships.

The Battle of Taranto occurred during the night of 11th November, 1940 in Taranto, Italy. The attack inspired the attack on Pearl Harbour by Japan a year later.

Agius is dedicated to his work, and tends to pay attention to the small details which consequently is what makes his art so impressive. His background is that of a draughtsman, engineer and industrial designer but he retired in 2007, in pursuit of his artistic side.

We cannot wait for ConvoyToranto! ‘s release and any future works he may create.
