Patrick Dalli, a celebrated contemporary artists, is opening the doors of his private gallery in Marsaskala to the public for a rare three-day event.

The exhibition offers visitors an intimate look at a curated selection of works that capture the breadth of Dalli’s artistic evolution, from his iconic large-scale nudes to his expressive watercolours and his more recent explorations that merge the human body with the landscape.

Dalli, born in 1955, is best known for his tactile, large-format nude paintings that reveal a deep fascination with the human form. Although he began creating art at a young age, his early development was largely self-taught.

A pivotal shift occurred in 1995, when he undertook academic training focused primarily on life drawing. That period of rigorous observation became the foundation of his practice, shaping the studio work that would define his reputation.

In addition to his celebrated nudes, visitors will encounter a selection of watercolours produced during short-pose life sessions, works that highlight Dalli’s instinctive mark-making and expressive command of the medium. In recent years, he has also embarked on a new creative trajectory, experimenting with stylised landscapes.

This exploration has developed into a striking series in which the contours of the human body and the natural environment echo and blend into one another, forming a unified visual language.

The private gallery will be open for a limited time only, creating a unique opportunity for the public to experience Dalli’s work in the intimate setting of his own artistic space. The exhibition will take place on 17th December from 7pm to 11pm, and on 18th and 19th December from 2pm to 8pm at Triq Vajrita, Marsaskala. Further details can be found on the event’s Facebook page.
