Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar (FAA) is offering a unique opportunity for the public to explore the rarely accessible Verdala Palace.
Built as a hunting lodge in the sixteenth century, Verdala Palace presents a unique blend of historical grandeur and innovative design strategies, nestled in the heart of Buskett Gardens.
This tour is happening on the 10th of June between 2pm and 3-m, in partnership with the Sustainable Regeneration of Built Heritage (SRBH), which will provide an immersive journey into the palace’s architectural marvels and rich history.
Designed by renowned Maltese architect Girolamo Cassar, Verdala Palace incorporates passive environmental design strategies that are characteristic of local architecture.
These features improve the comfort of the palace’s occupants, showcasing the intelligent design principles inherent in Cassar’s work.
Taking the helm of the tour is Amber Wismayer, an expert in heritage and sustainability, who will provide exclusive insights into the palace’s 500-year history, its inherent comfort potential, and closely guarded secrets.
