Studio Solipsis Announces A Schedule Of Artistic Events And Workshops
Studio Solipsis, the esteemed artistic space located in Rabat, has been hosting an exciting series of events this June.
Earlier this month, from 6th to 12th June, the studio exhibited a collection of contemporary handmade dolls, a project titled “Adopting KIN II”.
Crafted by the artists Glen Calleja and Lori Sauer, these dolls represented entities that ventured into the world, experienced adventures, and returned with unique stories to share.
Visitors had the opportunity to engage with these dolls and their fascinating narratives.
The month-long array of events at Studio Solipsis will conclude with “Boloħ,” a collective exhibition which launched on the 15th June and will continue until the 29th June 2023.
This immersive intervention encompasses the works of Matthew Attard, Gilbert Calleja, and Glen Calleja.
Collectively, they have attempted to articulate and challenge various architectures of power, spanning from those highly effective to others that are entirely dysfunctional.
The exhibition seeks to instigate a wider, critical confrontation with hierarchies of power, mechanisms of governance, and the practices that permit governing classes to maintain their supremacy.
With a few days remaining, Studio Solipsis invites everyone to partake in the ongoing “Boloħ” exhibition and immerse themselves in this thought-provoking artistic exploration, promising a rich and fulfilling experience for all attendees.
What are your thoughts on the artists’ representations of power and governance?
