After an exciting refurbishment, the Bored Peach Club (BPC) is thrilled to reopen its doors in  Gozo, welcoming two international artists-in-residence: Sarah Shaw from the UK and Eva Chenyao He from China, currently based in New York.

This new chapter invites these talented artists to create and connect with Gozo’s local community, bringing fresh perspectives and unique practices to the island’s creative landscape.

The Bored Peach Club, home to a diverse collective of 13 global artists, has become a cornerstone of creativity and collaboration on the island.

Known for curating immersive experiences that blend culture, self-expression, and transformation, BPC’s exhibitions, residencies, and community events are celebrated for connecting artists with diverse audiences and promoting sustainable artistic practices.

With its reopening, BPC reaffirms its commitment to fostering artistic expression and cultural exchange, encouraging Gozo to flourish as a hub for international creativity.

Eva Chenyao He, one of the two artists-in-residence, brings a fresh perspective honed through her multidisciplinary work in sculpture, installation, and performance.

Currently studying fine art at The Cooper Union in New York and a finalist in the 18th Arte Laguna Prize, Eva’s art delves into themes of time, desire, and existence, creating deeply contemplative spaces where material and immaterial worlds converge. Her work has been exhibited globally, from Venice to Shenzhen, offering a unique voice that captures vulnerability, fluidity, and autonomy.

Sarah Shaw, based in the UK, is celebrated for her evocative paintings and installations that explore the human experience and our connection to nature.

With a style that blends abstraction and realism, Sarah’s work draws viewers into a shared journey of introspection and emotion. Her accomplishments include recognition from the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, the Women in Art Prize, and the Contemporary British Painting Prize. Her time at BPC will give her a chance to immerse herself in Gozo’s unique landscape and engage with its community.

This residency at the Bored Peach Club offers these artists a chance to collaborate, create, and engage with the community in Gozo, while also showcasing the island’s unique cultural appeal.

Through this programme, BPC aims to support artistic growth and cultural exchange, further establishing Gozo as an inspiring destination for international creativity.
