Watch: Chinese Artist Living In Malta Is Painting 100 Maltese Cacti
Yuxiang Tang, a Chinese artist who’s living in Malta with his family is painting 100 Maltese cacti.
Painting in oils, @yi_bai_art is posting videos documenting and showing his process, and posting pictures of his progress till he hits the 100 cacti painting milestone.
These paintings aren’t just realistic representations of the cacti found around the island, Tang takes on a more abstract approach, incorporating the human body, the sea, Maltese architecture and even fauna.
“It wasn’t until last year that me and my family moved to this beautiful place, Malta.”
“If you ask me what has left the deepest impression on me about Malta, I would tell you, it’s the cactus… When i walk in the countryside, i feel surrounded by cactus.”
So far, Yuxiang is on cactus number 12 out of 100 and we can’t wait to see what else he has in store.
