9 Iconic Looks Ira Losco Has Graced Us With Throughout The Years

Three cheers for Malta’s queen of pop, the ultimate super mummy, everyone’s style inspo and X Factor judge extraordinaire! Today is Ira Losco’s birthday and we’re celebrating all the reasons we love her.

One of the reasons I love her is because when I was 10 years old, she came to my school and handed out free signed copies of Accident Prone. And the second reason I love her is because when I met her again last year at the age of 22 and had a near breakdown, she didn’t look at me like I was insane.

But another, and more universal, reason I love her is because her fashion sense has always been on point. From the first time she stole our hearts with some glitter to treating us to a new killer look every week on X Factor Malta, here are nine of Ira Losco’s most iconic looks.

1. The 7th Wonder jumpsuit

The year is 2002, and the jumpsuit is iconic. Sheer, white, lace, with glittery tassels and flares as wide as Mdina Road once the Central Link project is done.

2. Her rocker phase

No longer the mousy-brown haired girl who stepped on stage at the MCC, Ira had now come into her own as true naughties rocker, shaggy black hair, waist-coats and all.

Malta’s very own Avril Lavigne, everyone.

3. All of her GUESS adverts

Edgy Ira makes an appearance with a saucy shoot for GUESS jeans. And when we say saucy, we mean saucy.

I’m also particularly fond of the pink hair. Very edgy.

4. The time she was on a top-up card

Okay this is technically a carry-on of the ‘rocker stage’, and also she was technically on a top-up card more than one time. Plus several old school telecards. But I wanted to include this one, because look at that shirt and tie combo.

5. When she had blonde hair

Ira’s black hair is pretty iconic, but there was a time she went blonde for a while and TBH I love it. The beach-y chill vibes really work for me.

6. That Walk On Water dress

A floor-length gown, bedazzled with gold sequins, cleavage galore. Oh, and the iconic baby bump.

Move over Beyoncé.

7. This outfit from the first season of X Factor

One of Santa’s elves in summer with cowboy boots and a side braid. That’s all I have to say.

8. The Hey Now dress

An iconic performance that reminded everyone why she is still Malta’s queen of pop and went crazy viral. And thank God the outfit she chose to perform in was just as iconic.

9. The ‘Aqtag?ha naqa’ tshirt

One time on the first season of X Factor Malta, Ira was talking and an angry audience member told her to shut up. Then somebody made it into a tshirt and wore it to a party. And then Ira wore it.

Perfection.

BONUS: Matching family Christmas jumpers

Listen, I’m a sucker for anything Christmas-related, and if there’s a cute baby somewhere in the mix I’m more than sold.

So whilst this might not be an Ira-defining look (I really hope you got that joke), I had to include this family photo featuring Ira, hubby Sean Gravina and baby Harry. Look how cute they are!
