Bonġu Anġli! Here Are Our Picks For Malta’s Very Own Charlie’s Angels Cast
Good morning, readers. Good morning, Lovin.
Charlie’s Angels is getting a reboot for 2019, and in honour of this kick-ass announcement, we thought we’d take a look at who might fit the roles had the production been set in Malta.
With the remake/reboot/revamp/continuation due to hit cinemas this November and pop icons Lana Del Rey, Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus’ team-up for the movie’s anthem unveiled earlier today, we thought we’d give you all our two cents on who should replace the cast if it were a local production, instead.
And before we start; obviously, Peppi Azzopardi would voice Charlie because it’s fucking Peppi Azzopardi.
Instead of Kristen Stewart as Sabina Wilson, let’s get Malta’s very own starlet Sosa on that big screen.
Instead of Naomi Scott as Elena Houghlin, we thought we’d cast Instagram influencer Sarah Alfalah.
And instead of Ella Balinska as Jane Kano, we’d like to see runway model Naledi Sehloho back on our screens.
Whether they’re household names or ones who should get way more recognition, these girls are all killing it in more ways than one, and tbh we really kinda wanna see a Maltese spin on the classic show.
BONUS: With the pop-trio of Lana-Ariana-Miley, we wanted to guess our won local trio to take on the movie’s title track
While Times Three was an obvious choice, we dug deeper and came up with these three picks…
Ira Losco in place of Miley Cyrus
She shows up, she sings, she does some twists and turns, she leaves. It works every time and that’s all you need to know.
Michela in place of Ariana Grande
It takes a whole lot to fill Grande’s big vocal shoes, but we feel like our very own X Factor winner has what it takes to bring it home. And who knows? Maybe the innocent-looking-good-girl-gone-bad look could really work for Malta’s 2019 Eurovision representative.

And Nicole Frendo in place of Lana Del Rey
Moody, husky voice, long flowy dress, and a performance that’ll stop anyone in their tracks. Yep, we’ve found her.
