Conor McGregor Should Pretty Much Be Made Into A Maltese Ambassador At This Point

Article Featured Image

Can we just give MMA legend Conor McGregor a Maltese passport or something?

First, the irrepressible Irish fighter casually became a float during Malta’s carnival, before hinting that he’s going to be visiting the island soon.

Now, he’s been spotted on a boat proudly waving the Maltese red and white flag. What a goddamned patriot.

And yes; that’s probably only a Malta-registered boat, and the picture was likely to have been snapped in some super luxurious gated community for boats – but as long as the George Cross is getting the respect it deserves, then who are we plebians to complain?

Not only should McGregor be nominated for a Ġieħ ir-Repubblika for his unwavering support to our island nation that he has made evident through his good work, but he should probably just be promoted to Malta’s Ambassador to Ireland by now

Through his diplomatic work, we Maltese might even be able to give a helping hand when it comes to the issue of a hard Irish border and Brexit; they have Protestantism vs Catholicism, we have England vs Italy, so we are really well-versed in conflict management and getting people who are pretty much the exact same to get along.

Until we see Conor McGregor on Maltese soil, however, we will have to be content with these grainy pics of him and his family near a Maltese flag – it’s definitely better than ‘nothing’.
