EXCLUSIVE: Chiara To Make Surprising Comeback As Mother Superior In New Musical

Chiara, Malta’s beloved Eurovision singer, is back to sooth your ears. the My ?arbun singer will be stepping on stage as an actress for the first time ever… and she’s playing the part of a nun.

Chiara will be joining the star-studded cast of Il-?anina Maddalena, a musical by Maestro Dominic Galea, and we managed to get our hands on a teaser from one of her songs, Le Verginelle.

This musical is set in the 18th Century and will tell the story of three verginelle who join the Magdalene sisters at their convent in Valletta.

Chiara will be playing the Madre, and will be joined on stage by Amber, Leontine, Dorothy Bezzina and Caterina Vitale.

The convent will be given life by many local talents, among which are Ishmael Grech, Rachel Tedesco Triccas, Samaria Bezzina, Jamie Cardona, Andre Mangion, Jesmond Tedesco Triccas, Dominic Cini, Alexander Gatesy Lewis, Karl Cassar, Rachel Vella, Christine Francalanza, Gilbert Formosa, Marceline Galea and the young Haley Azzopardi.

Lyrics are penned by Loranne Vella and the show will be directed by Theatre stalwart Josette Ciappara.

This star-studded musical will premier on the 18th of July outdoors at Pjazza Teatru Rjal. More shows will follow from the 20th till the 29th of July.
