First MasterChef Malta Grey Aprons Handed Out To Aspiring Chefs As Auditions Kick Off

Maltese viewers got their first taste of Masterchef Malta last night, as several chefs kicked off their culinary journey.
The first episode was a simple audition, where chefs presented their signature dishes to a panel of expert judges composed of Victor Borg, Letizia Vella, and Joe Vella.
Pretty brutal at times, the judges dismissed several dishes, pointing out flaws in the cooking and warning they weren’t up to the required standard.

However, that only made it more rewarding for the chefs who were given a grey apron and qualified for the next round.
Victor Borg said that around 1,000 people had applied to be on the show, out of which 40 were chosen to compete in the auditions. Out of these, 25 will receive a grey apron and move on to the next round, where challenges will commence.
