The biggest international pageant in the world is back, and it seems like this year’s Miss Universe ambassador for the tiny island of Malta is a young Law student from ?ejtun who could very well bring it home.
22-year-old Francesca Mifsud kicked off her adventure yesterday by jetting off to Bangkok, Thailand. What will follow is three weeks of challenges and activities that might see her being crowned Miss Universe 2018.
Francesca’s name was picked as a Miss Universe favourite in over 250 predictions on various sites and blog

Crowned Miss Universe Malta 2018 back in July, Francesca has been through months of rigorous preparations ahead of the finals in Thailand this December.
From ‘personality lessons’ to modelling training by a Filipino professional, Francesca’s hard work would come to fruition on the final night of Miss Universe, which is set to be broadcasted in over 50 countries around the world on December 17th. Earlier this year, Mifsud also kicked off the #StandUp against sexual abuse campaign.

Francesca will join 95 other contestants in Bangkok, but only 15 ambassadors will be chosen for the final ceremony.
On the night, various celebrities will be present, including popular R&B singer Ne-Yo, international model Ashley Graham and celebrity presenter Steve Harvey himself.
Miss Universe Malta is being headed by Alan J. Darmanin and Jeff Francalanza of Glow Productions.
