Gaia Cauchi, the 15-year-old Maltese singing starlet, has auditioned for X Factor UK, one of the biggest talent shows in the world, and it will be aired tonight at 9:35pm on ITV.
Her big moment in front of judges Simon Cowell, Ayda Williams, Robbie Williams and Louis Tomlinson is set to leave her fans gripping the edges of their seats with excitement.
She performed Paloma Faith’s ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’ during her audition – and it went down so well that superstar singer Robbie Williams exclaimed: “You’re incredibly charismatic and I think you have The X Factor – but I think your age is a concern.”
Gaia took to Instagram ahead of the airing of the audition, excited to share her experience with the whole world: “Finally I can start sharing this amazing experience with you bit by bit. This has been one of the greatest opportunities in my life.”

She will need to get at least three yeses from the judges to make it onto the next round
Alongside the judges, she performed in front of 4,000 people at the SSE Arena at Wembley. But Gaia is no newcomer to large audiences, having won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 in front of a much larger crowd.
The 15-year-old didn’t hold back from letting the judges know that she’s been dreaming of this moment for years: “I wanted to apply when I was younger but I think now is the right time. “
If she makes it through, she will be headed towards the next stages of the competition, including bootcamp and the six chair challenge.
Gaia’s audition will be shown at 9:35pm Saturday evening, on ITV.
