The Hollywood for Science Gala on Thursday brought of the biggest names in global entertainment, sports, and fashion together for one night – but one famous red carpet pairing has really caught our eyes.

Legendary singer, rapper, and songwriter Lauryn Hill, known for her work with The Fugees as well as her debut album as a solo artist, performed at the gala wearing an incredible gown by none other than Malta’s very own Charles & Ron – and it wasn’t just any typical gown.

“The amazing Lauryn Hill performs in honour of the one and only Barbra Streisand at the Hollywood for Science Gala! Lauryn Hill wearing Charles & Ron pure silk taffeta hand-beaded gown. We’re all gasping for air at the studio OMG,” posted one half of the duo Charles Van Maarschalkerweerd Borg following her performance.

Speaking to Lovin Malta, Charles said the pair didn’t know Hill would be wearing their creation during her stellar performance

“They told us that she had our gown – but we didn’t know that she would wear it for such a prestigious event, especially to sing for Barbra Streisand, who is our idol,” he beamed.

The stars were out in full force for the annual gala which celebrates global conservation efforts

This year’s gala honoured Barbra Streisand and model Gisele Bundchen for their environmental efforts and commitment to the important cause while firmly in the public eye.
