China may be half the world away from Malta, but village festa music still managed to find its way into the music programme for China’s inaugural International Import Expo.

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, who is leading the Maltese delegation to Shanghai, uploaded a photo to his Instagram of the global music programme which delegates were treated to and which amazingly included a rendition of the festa music.

“A touch of Malta in China,” Muscat said.

During a banquet, Muscat and his chief of staff Keith Schembri also got to meet China’s President Xi Jinping, who was recently ranked by Forbes as the most powerful person in the world.
