Maltese Social Media Starlet Is An Absolute Inspiration On Instagram

Tamara Webb is just 26 years old, but she’s been steadily making waves online for years now. A fashionista, fitness junkie, travel blogger, photographer, content writer, and marketing manager at the hyped JAR, Webb’s days must be packed to the brim.

With over 9,000 followers and nearly 1,500 posts, Webb’s Instagram account and Facebook page feature everything from clips of workouts, to outfits of the day, to some mouth-watering healthy foodporn.

What makes Webb a veritable influencer, however, is not the professional lighting on her photos or her picture-perfect smile. The social media starlet frequently posts photos of herself which many in her position would never dare post, specifically because she wants to inspire other women.

In a photo shared last month, Webb showed off some of her stretch-marks post-workout. The caption reads, “This is dedicated to all of you #QUEENS who think that some girls are ‘perfect’ just because we all tend to hide our imperfections”.

In another post, Tamara shared a photo of herself feeling bloated on a boat. “At first people thought I was pregnant and I knew this picture would evoke such a reaction,” Webb had said in an interview with Maltese blogger Lyndsey Grima earlier this week. “But then, people started realising that I wasn’t pregnant, I was just bloated. I had so many messages thanking me for posting such a picture because it proved they weren’t alone. I’m a huge believer of showing all the sides of every pretty picture. I want my followers to be able to relate to me and take comfort that everyone goes through bad phases and has bad days”.

“I don’t even know if I like the word influencer. I don’t know what I can call myself”, Webb said on the same interview. “Even before the Instagram days, I’ve always loved sharing on social media, but I’m like that in my daily life as well. I’m a very sharing and caring person with the people around me”.

Last week, Webb kicked off September by being nominated for an award at the 2017 edition of JCI Malta’s Global Goal Awards for Entrepreneurial Accomplishment. “We need to believe in ourselves, because if we don’t, who will?” Tamara said on her celebratory Facebook post.

“My only advice to anyone who plays a role in inspiring people is to be real and, most importantly, be true to yourself,” Webb concluded. “If you’re a role model to young teens and you’re only showing the pretty picture, I think that is misleading to both your followers and, especially, yourself. At the end of the day, we should all do what makes US happy’. Having a million and one things to do every day, Tamara also claims that it’s important to stay organised and calm but you also should remember that ‘you can do anything but not everything in a day”.
