Our islands are full of awesome people doing incredible things on the rock and beyond its shores… but what if we told you one of Malta’s own has been casually dressing up some of the biggest celebrities on the planet?

Meet Bunny Holiday, the half-Maltese designer who has been making waves with her fabulous designs, dressing celebrities from Beyoncé to Kylie Jenner

The Canadian-born gal is based in Los Angeles, where she creates looks that can be worn on stage or on the street. She learned how to make and sew designs from her aunt, skills she initially used to create outfits for her Barbie dolls.

Bunny’s dream came true as her designs have been worn by numerous celebrities, including Beyoncé, Kylie Jenner, Riley Reid, Paris Hilton, and Bhad Bhabie.

Holiday boasts over 16 years of experience in the art and fashion world, during which she was “blessed with many magical moments” while working within the community.

Her journey began in 2007, when she was discovered by the CEO of American Apparel, Dov Charney, while working in Toronto. She had altered some of the company’s products to create The High Waisted Legging.

From here, Bunny was sent to Los Angeles for what was was supposed to be for four days, however fast forward to present day and the designer is still there… and what an incredible journey it’s been.

From there, she launched her own clothing brand, giving birth to the sub-label Cali Sun and Fun in 2013. As the creative director of this label, Bunny had the opportunity to have her designs worn by Beyoncé in her “Blow” music video, considered one of the singer’s most iconic outfits.

It girl Paris Hilton has also worn Holiday’s designs multiple times, featuring in various publications, including Galore and Numero Berlin. Bunny even had the opportunity to meet and party with the iconic socialite herself.

“She has inspired me since I was 10, growing up watching The Simple Life,” Holiday said while speaking to Lovin Malta.

“She is even more amazing and a genuine gorgeous queen in and out in real life than on screen and socials!” Bunny continued.

Another “mind-blowing collaboration” was with the American porn star Riley Reid where they debuted a collection on her dolls in the Reid My Lips in 2020.

“Supporting sex workers and the strength, smarts and soft humanity in the women of the community has always been a sisterly interest,” the young designer said of her collaboration.

“Having the experience with the rockstar of the world, Riley and learning so much of her business, brain mixed with the beauty and booty endlessly motivates me,” Holiday shared while summing up the experience.

Bunny also created the NFT fantasy with her longtime model and friend Paris Scholland, which gave her the opportunity to reconnect with her Maltese roots, a place she had been dreaming of visiting.

Fresh from New York Fashion Week, Bunny is back on the rock this weekend and is gearing up for her upcoming event, “Beam into EuroPride,” together with the Gay Aliens Society.

“Now having this opportunity creating the NFT fantasy me and my long time model/friend Paris have been dreaming of in my the place of Maltese roots (small world!) is the almond on the biskuttini!” Bunny told Lovin Malta. “It means a lot spreading awareness of loving liberally all, our selves and others.”
