Nicole Vella was crowned the winner of the 23rd edition of Miss World Malta last night in Valletta, headed to battle other global beauties in Thailand this December.

She stunned during last night’s competition, both with her looks and personality.

However, the 19-year-old from Rabat is still quite new to the fashion world.

Here’s some things you should know about Nicole Vella ahead of her big competition at the end of this year.

1. Her mother is Debbie Scerri, who represented Malta in the 1997 Eurovision

2. She’s reading for her degree in psychology at the University of Malta

She’s even the International Relations Officer with Betapsi

3. She sings, as well as dances ballet

She had previously auditioned for X Factor Malta

4. She’s already making waves with local supporters

5. As well as being supported by the Modelle International judges and modelling experts Sue Rossi and Claudia Calleja

6. And she’s even done some good work with Dr Klown, the voluntary group that brings smiles to patients recovering in hospital
