The world has been abuzz with talk about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, following their revelatory two-hour interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Opinions are majorly split on Meghan – but one thing is for sure, the girl loves Malta.

Awesomely, Meghan is actually part Maltese, with her great-great grandmother Mary born on the island. Meghan herself had travelled here in 2015 to explore the localities and her ancestry, and she had said there was something magical about “fitting in a piece of the puzzle”.

Though there currently may be some tension between the Queen of England and Meghan, it’s good to know that they have one major thing in common – their love for the Maltese Islands, which they’ve both previously spoken about.

Returning to the 2015 trip, which was made in conjunction with Hello! Magazine, Meghan was able to truly live her best Maltese life by eating some of the local delicacies like ftira biż-żejt and pastizzi.

She visited the now-lost icon that was the Azure Window for a bit of a photoshoot – but her most iconic moment on the island had to be when she wore an għonella, a traditional piece of Maltese clothing that her bużbużnanna Mary probably wore.

Meghan’s been on the tip of everyone’s tongues for a few good days now – and no wonder, considering it’s full of incredible inner revelations about the couple’s struggles dealing with the Royal family as well as the British press.

However, the only question we have is: when is she coming back to visit her Maltese brothers and sisters, and is Archie coming?
