WATCH: An Għonnella, Walking Sticks And Brooches For Days… Iggy Fenech Has One Hell Of An Eclectic Wardrobe

It’s that time of the week again, guys. We’re taking you into the depths of some of Malta’s most iconic wardrobes and, for the fifth episode of Off The Rails, Sunday Circle editor Iggy Fenech stopped by with all of his fabulous wearables.

Iggy’s wardrobe favourites are some of the most daring pieces we’ve seen…. and we’ve seen Ben Camille’s closet.

Iggy is one of those fashion icons we all know likes to make a statement from time to time, so we were very excited to get a look into the behind-the-scenes of some of his most audacious pieces.

First up is one of his most prized possesions: a Charles & Ron runway piece (because Iggy).

Iggy actually wanted the neckpiece pictured on the graphic on the back of this jacket, but that wasn’t available anymore… so he went for the next best thing.

Storytime: Iggy was once waiting behind a church in this piece and was mistaken for a priest because of the collar.

His second piece is a fabulous number; a vintage woman’s jacket, complete with gold tassels and all.

This was one of the first statement pieces Iggy bought for himself. On the cusp of real adulthood he wanted to have something to step out onto the streets in that turned heads but still had some minimalistic undertones.

Piece number 3? A one-of-a-kind, hand-embroidered kurta from India.

Iggy went travelling through India a few years back and met a family who gifted him this beautiful flowing shirt, with the mother’s sister having embroidered the fine golden pattern herself.

His next choice is one of his many walking sticks… because even in your youth, you can never have enough regality when it comes to fashion.

Sadly, Iggy couldn’t bring in the walking stick that was confiscated at an airport in Italy for being too much of a ‘weapon’ – the very walking stick that helped him complete the Camino de Santiago.

His final ‘big’ piece is the one we’ve all been waiting for…

Iggy Fenech, the man we all know for wearing flowers to a Fashion Week event, owns an għonnella.

We’re not sure how many of these are left around these days in such mint condition, but Iggy sure does seem to take care of his.

He’s been spotted out a few times wearing it, and every time he serves for the gods in the most unapologetically (not that an apology is necessary for this instance) of ways.

His final show-and-tells are his brooches.

Rachel, our fabulous host, called Iggy brooch boy earlier on in the episode, and for a good reason, too.

These are only a few of the brooches Iggy has brought in for us, but we’ll save the final and juiciest one for you to see in the video itself (which you should have watched by now, because you’ve no doubt seen the previous episodes with views upwards of 50k).

We’ll leave you with one hint behind its inspiration: it’s made by a local, Maltese sculptor and based on a very famous painting.
