Watch: Bridgerton Leading Lady Recalls Living In Malta For A Year And ‘Drinking Long Island Iced Teas’
Bridgerton actress Nicola Coughlan recalled how she spent a year in Malta on Erasmus back in 2006 in a recent interview promoting the third season of the Netflix hit series.
In an interview with Netflix Italia, the actress who plays Penelope Featherington, listed five things that people “did not know” about her, and the second fun fact just so happened to be about our island.
She detailed how 18 years ago, the leading lady was on Erasmus in Malta when she was 19 years old.“I just had the time of my life. I used to go to nightclubs all the time and drink Long Island iced tea, which I could not drink now, you couldn’t pay me to drink now. But when I was 19, I thought it was delicious and wonderful.”
Back in 2021, the Irish actress talked about her love for Maltese bread, saying “they have this bread there, which you literally can’t get anywhere else in the world, and I think about it constantly.”
“They make it in a stone oven like pizza, and it’s really flat and really crispy. It’s like a ciabatta but not springy on the inside. We used to go and buy it after a night out,” she said to comedians Ed Gamble and James Acaster while speaking to the pair on the Off Menu podcast.
