Sweet Sense have made their official debut, and what a debut it was.

Gaia Cauchi, the 15-year-old Maltese singer, joined her four bandmates to perform Bruno Mars’ ‘Uptown Funk’ for an exciting performance that saw the singers show off their vocal chops on the X Factor stage in front of viewers all around the world.

The crowd joined in with the singers on stage, clapping and singing along. The performance was part of the Six Chair Challenge, in a round with fierce competition from some other talented groups.

Sweet Sense had some fighting words for the judges prior to their performance

“We all originally auditioned as soloists for our first audition and then on deliberation day we got put together as a girl group. We feel we work really well together the connection is really good. If we’re don’t get our bums on that chair, we’re going to have to take Simon’s,” the girls said.

Sweet Sense is made up of Malta’s very own Gaia Cauchi alongside with 17-year-old Ellie Grant, 18-year-old twins Billie Tomo and Charlie Tomo and 15-year-old Kezia Povey.

But Gaia herself is no newcomer to the spotlight, having won the 2013 Junior Eurovision for Malta with her song The Start. She then went on to represent with Tina Turner’s ‘Proud Mary’ on the popular Italian TV show Ti Lascio Una Canzone, before winning the prestigious Sanremo Junior Music Festival a year later when she was just nine years old, singing ‘One Night Only’, from the hit film Dreamgirls.
