Watch: Jason Derulo Shoots Hoops With Maltese Basketball Players Right Before Summer Daze Festival
World-renowned pop star Jason Derulo surprised Maltese basketball players last Monday as he randomly turned up to shoot hoops at the Ta Qali basketball pavilion a few hours before taking to the Summer Daze festival stage.
“It was completely unplanned,” Malta national team player Mikela Riolo said of the surreal moment.
“Apparently Derulo said he wanted to play basketball, so the festival team made a few calls and he just showed up.”
At around 6pm, a few hours before his headline Summer Daze performance just across the road, the Ridin’ Solo star turned up with some of his friends and crew, where they spent “around an hour just shooting around and chilling”
“We joined in and played with them a bit too,” Riolo said, sharing photos of herself and fellow Malta national team player Marco Farrugia with the superstar artist.
It looks like Derulo’s got some skills – a short video from the session shows him effortlessly pulling of a three-pointer.
