Half-Maltese singer Lauren Aquilina has finally returned to performing after an extended break from the stage for to mental health reasons. Her triumphant return was at the beloved Barn On The Farm Festival in Gloucester.
Aquilina, who shot to fame after writing emotional but catchy tunes, took her first steps back onto a festival stage for the first time in three years last Friday.

“Sorry to be emo,” she said in a tweet to her fans, “but I really didn’t know what to expect from performing yesterday after so long.”
“Seeing almost everyone in the crowd sing back Fools and Kicks was a shock but made me feel so loved and happy. Thank you for still being there after all this time!”
The singer also took to the main stage to replace another act, Island, who had to drop out last minute due to illness in the group.
Calling it quits shortly after releasing her first studio album under a new label, Aquilina had said: “When I realised what a negative impact my career was having on my mental health, I realised something needed to change.”
Back on April 1st Lauren also teased that she may be working on new music, but has yet to confirm or deny if it is in fact an April Fool’s joke. We’re certainly hoping it’s not.
