Watch: Owen Leuellen Gets Into An Insane Rap-battle On Kai Cenat’s Record Breaking Subathon
“Owen Leuellen straight outta Malta!”
Our very own singing and rap sensation Owen Leuellen just got the opportunity of a lifetime: Rap-battling on Kai Cenat’s Twitch channel, the most subscribed to date.
While in Los Angeles for networking and to continue growing his music career, Owen’s talents were noticed, which presented him with a unique moment.
“I got picked to be in a Rap battle live on Kai Cenat’s 30 day Twitch stream marathon,” Leuellen told the newsroom, “After breaking the world record for the most subs they organised a ‘White Rap battle’ for white rappers and I won the first round and even shouted out Malta and Valletta.”
With 14 rappers butting heads and spitting bards, the competition was tough, but, Owen persevered and came out on top in the first round.
Kai Cenat has recently smashed the record for most Twitch subscribers with 364,611 active subs and counting, a record previously held by VTuber Ironmouse who’s 342,000 sub count was surpassed on 11th November.
The stream marathon that led up to the record, Mafiathon 2, is a 30-day long stream where fans watch him eat, sleep and live his day to day, live on camera. However, as is the nature of Kai Cenat, he definitely went out of his way to make these long streams entertaining.
From surprise celebrity appearances by Snoop Dogg to insane challenges and skits, all moments filmed live helped raise money, 20% of the which are helping fund the construction of a school in Nigeria.
Near the end of the rap-battle, when the competition got narrowed down, Owen was put up with some of the best of the night, and despite an epic display of lyrical creativity, he got bested by his competitor and took the loss like a champ.
Congrats to Leuellen on this insane opportunity!
