Watch: Possible Election Solution For Islanders To Vote Without Leaving The Villa

Love Island producer Ben Camille has urged the Electoral Commission to come up with a solution that would allow islands to vote at the upcoming MEP and local council elections on 8th June without having to leave the villa.
“My personal opinion is that I would love for them to vote, because I think it’s everyone’s duty to do so and I wouldn’t want them to miss out on that just because they’re here on Love Island,” Ben told Lovin Malta.
“We’re in communication with them right now and we hope they allow us to make it work.”
Love Island Malta’s second season kicks off on Sunday and will last for six weeks. As per the rules of the competition, islanders aren’t allowed to leave the villa unless they want to quit the game.
“Ultimately it’s not in our hands,” Ben said. “We have our regulations and format. If the Islanders want to vote, and most of them do, and the electoral campaign allows that to happen then we have no objection. It’s a matter of us trying to respect their guidelines and them trying to respect ours.”
