Almost 800 Participants In The First Edition Of The 10KM Istrina Palace Run In Aid Of Malta Community Chest Fund

What a turnout! For its first edition, the 10 kilometre Istrina Palace Run had almost 800 Participants running in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund (MCCF).

Participants ran 10 kilometres from the Verdala Castle in Siġġiewi to the Palace of the President in Ħal Balzan. This activity was all in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund

MCCF’s aim is to improve the quality of life and care of individuals and society in general, without any form of discrimination on the basis of social class, gender identity, age, ability, health, status or religion.

The idea for the Palace Run was put forward by Major Richard Vassallo, with the support of Joseph Micallef. The run was carried out with success on Saturday 14th June and will return next year on the same date.

In her first comments before the run started, Her Excellency, the President Myriam Spiteri Debono expressed her satisfaction and thanked all the participants for their gesture which will help all those that use MCCF’s services.
